National Volunteer Week 2024
National Volunteer Week 2024
National Volunteer Week (NVW) is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering.
National Volunteer Week 2024 is a celebration of the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to volunteering. This special event is an opportunity to highlight the important role of volunteers in our community and to invite people not currently volunteering to give it a go.
National Volunteer Week 2024 theme
This year’s NVW theme is ‘Something for Everyone’. It is an invitation to explore the rich diversity of opportunities available through volunteering, and highlights that there’s a place for everyone in the world of volunteering.
Thank you to EMC volunteers
We would like to take this opportunity to thank each of our volunteers for their hard work and dedication. EMC Director Nicole Wiggins has said, “the staff, board and guests of the EMC appreciate the dedication of all our volunteers and the wonderful, caring way in which they generously provide their time.”
Happy National Volunteer Week to all EMC volunteers. The centre would not be possible without the help of this amazing team of people.
- Nicole Wiggins, EMC Director
Volunteer celebration
We’re holding an event at the EMC for our volunteers to say thank you for their ongoing support.
All volunteers are invited to attend the celebration on Thursday, 30 May from 4.30pm to 6.00pm at the Early Morning Centre. If you haven’t yet received your invitation, please let us know.
Interested in becoming a volunteer?
If you’re interested in volunteering with the EMC, we would love to hear from you!
We have two main volunteer opportunities:
- preparing and serving breakfast weekdays from 7am to 9am, and
- helping out in the Community Hub for a few hours between 9am and 2pm weekdays or 9am and 1pm weekends.
Volunteers usually do a shift once a week or fortnight.
We are currently in need of volunteers for the Community Hub on weekends.
We’re also seeking volunteers for some fun, unique opportunities including an instructor for our cooking classes and someone to lead our guitar jam sessions. We can be flexible to work around your schedule.
