Anti-Poverty Week 2023
Anti-Poverty Week 2023
15-27 October 2023
Anti-Poverty Week supports the Australian community to have an increased understanding of poverty and to act collectively to end it. The campaign encourages all Australians to take action and focus on positive solutions to end poverty.
Anti-Poverty Week (APW) is held each year around the 17th of October, the United Nations Day for the Eradication of Poverty. This year APW will be held over two weeks, from Sunday 15 October to Friday 27 October.
In Australia, there are more than 3.32 million people living below the poverty line. That’s one in eight people; more than 13.4% of the population. Many of those affected live in deep poverty.
