2019 ACT Volunteering Awards

The Early Morning Centre would like to congratulate Malcolm Leslie for receiving a Recognition Award at the 2019 ACT Volunteering Awards, held on Tuesday, 21 May 2019, during National Volunteer Week.

Malcolm is part of our Friday breakfast crew and was nominated for his incredible fundraising efforts when he and two friends rode their bicycles from one side of Australia to the other!

The fundraiser, which was aptly called “Breaking the Cycle”, raised $28,900 for the Early Morning Centre! An amazing result that far exceeded expectations. Funds raised helped us launch our “Recipe for Success” cooking classes.

Congratulations to Malcolm and to all Canberra volunteers who were nominated for the Awards, your hard work and dedication helps to make our community a better place.
