Temporary accommodation for men and women sleeping rough in Canberra this winter
Do you need a warm place to sleep tonight?
Homelessness can affect anyone. There is no shame in reaching out, we’re all human and we all need help sometimes. If you or someone you know is sleeping rough in Canberra this winter, there is help available.
Thanks to support from the ACT Government, Argyle Housing and CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn have temporary accommodation for people in Canberra experiencing homelessness. Argyle Housing is providing accommodation for men through the Ainslie Lodge, and CatholicCare is providing accommodation for women at MacKillop House.
Ainslie Lodge (for men)
Provided by Argyle Housing
Formally known as Winter Lodge, Ainslie Lodge is located in Ainslie Village at 23 Quick Street, Campbell.
Ainslie Lodge is a place for men in Canberra who are experiencing homelessness to stay overnight and keep warm.
This is an overnight service, although there is the potential to stay up to a maximum of 7 days. Argyle Housing staff can also assist guests in finding appropriate long-term housing if required.
There are limited beds and the service is available on a first come, first served basis.
How to access Ainslie Lodge
Referrals are required. You can chat to the EMC and we can provide you with a referral, or you can call Ainslie Village on 1300 274 953.

MacKillop House (for women)
Provided by CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn
MacKillop House, located in Lyneham, provides safe and secure supported accommodation for women over the age of 18 who are experiencing homelessness. There is also space available for women with children.
Residents can stay for a period of up to 3 months with the possibility of extension. CatholicCare can assist guests with finding long term secure and sustainable accommodation solutions.
